Brian Jeffers

Tenor

Brian Jeffers is a Phoenix-based emerging artist specializing in Opera and Musical Theatre.  Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, he received his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Glenn Korff School of Music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. There he studied with noted scholar and soprano Dr. Jamie Reimer and performed his first opera roles including Mayor Upfold (Albert Herring), Governor (Candide), King Kaspar (Amahl and the Night Visitors), and Don Curzio (Le Nozze di Figaro), among others. 

Brian is currently finishing his Master of Music in Music Theatre-Opera in Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts' Lyric Opera Theatre at Arizona State University.  There he studies with internationally acclaimed baritone Gordon Hawkins and has performed in many productions most notably acclaimed performances of Anything Goes (Lord Evelyn Oakleigh) and a premiere adaptation of Haydn's The Creation.  Brian has also been a part of several world premieres, oratorios and is an active freelance musician in the Valley area.

L'ELISIR D'AMORE

The Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts' Lyric Opera Theatre's production of L'Elisir D'Amore (The Elixir of Love) is coming up SOON!! It is so great to see the pieces come together and the dedication of everyone involved.  If you think opera isn't for you, or think that and have never seen one, this is a PERFECT show to see to get your feet wet! It is the classic story of a young boy with nothing to his name, but a lot of love in his heart, who is hopelessly in love with a girl out of his league. Through a series of funny, heartwarming, and bittersweet actions he does everything he can to melt her guarded heart.  Complete with partying, wine, dancing, slapstick, and Donizetti's BEAUTIFUL music.  The opera includes the incredibly famous tenor aria Una Furtiva Lagrima as well as many other well known Donizetti melodies.  DON'T MISS this Bel Canto staple!!!
