I will be headed to Aspen, Colorado for this amazing program before moving to New York City in the fall. I will be studying with internationally-acclaimed tenor Vinson Cole and this year's opera Artist-in-Residence is GRAMMY-winning Met soprano, Renee Fleming.
My major project for the summer will be covering the role of Dino in William Bolcom's comic opera A Wedding. Described by Bolcom as a "21st Century Marriage of Figaro" the story, based on the 1978 comedy film of the same name, focuses around Dino and Muffin's wedding weekend and the complications of "old money" marrying "new money". It is new to the operatic repertoire and was premiered at Lyric Opera of Chicago in 2004.
I will also be focusing on, learning, and performing the repertoire of Mozart through classes and weekly scene concerts, as well as being a part of the Aspen Opera Center's opera chorus.
